Responsibilities
Become the technical authority on SmartSuite's APIs, data model, authentication (including SSO/SCIM), and webhook behavior
Guide and troubleshoot complex integrations, custom solutions, and enterprise features like SSO, SCIM, and data extraction for developers and technical customers
Create and maintain high-quality, developer-facing assets, including API documentation, integration guides, and examples
Influence the platform’s developer experience by partnering with Engineering and Product to surface feedback and drive improvements to tooling and APIs
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience working with APIs, integrations, or developer-facing platforms in production environments (we value impact, judgment, and outcomes over exact years)
Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON data models, authentication patterns, and webhook-driven systems
Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues by analyzing requests, payloads, logs, and error responses
Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS)
Experience providing technical guidance to developers, partners, or technical customers through documentation, examples, and direct collaboration
Comfort reading, writing, and debugging example API requests or lightweight code (e.g., cURL, JavaScript, Python, or similar)
Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and customer-facing teams to drive outcomes
A mindset oriented toward raising the bar—improving clarity, reliability, and usability of APIs and developer-facing resources over time
