Responsibilities

Lead a daily cohort of middle school students in enrichment activities, academic support, service learning, team-building, outdoor exploration, arts, and project-based experiences
Build positive routines, expectations, and culture grounded in youth development and restorative practices
Support student leadership through opportunities for responsibility and choice
Train, coach, and evaluate high school student leaders serving as peer guides
Provide daily modeling, skill development, and feedback to ensure high-quality support
Take daily attendance and maintain accurate ELO-P compliance records
Communicate with families regarding student progress, behavior, attendance, and news
Manage materials, activity prep, and safe daily transitions
Facilitate a variety of structured after school activities, including:
Outdoor and nature-based learning
Arts, hands-on projects, and collaborative challenges
SEL, service-learning, and community-building activities
Support the development of student showcases, culminating projects, and spring events
Collaborate with Envision Impact Academy staff, Forest & Tree instructors, and community partners
Assist with coordination of weekly walking field trips, monthly excursions, and off-site experiences
Work with chaperones and partners to ensure safe, well-organized outings
Help plan logistics for transportation, materials, safety protocols, and supervision
Support the Executive Director and leadership in ensuring trips align with program goals

Required

Minimum 3-5 years working with middle school youth in after school programs, classrooms, camps, or youth development settings
Strong behavior management and capacity to support diverse learners
Experience supervising youth or staff (high school youth leader supervision preferred)
Experience coordinating activities, enrichment programming, or field trips
Bilingual Spanish preferred
Strong classroom and group management strategies for middle school students
Ability to create engaging, culturally responsive activities
Excellent communication skills with students, families, and staff
Strong organizational skills, including attendance, scheduling, and material prep
Ability to mentor teens and build leadership capacity
Comfort with outdoor and community-based learning experiences
Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic school environment
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Capable of transporting materials up to 45 lbs
Local travel for walking field trips and off-site excursions
TB clearance and fingerprinting/background check required prior to working with students
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to receive training)

Preferred

Coursework or degree in education, social sciences, recreation, youth development, or related field preferred
