Finance Manager
Rose International is seeking an experienced consultant to research and resolve issues within the PCS rewards liability processes. This role will focus on analyzing discrepancies between calculated rewards liability and the general ledger balance, requiring strong accounting expertise and analytical skills.

Responsibilities
Lead working sessions with internal stakeholders and external vendors to gather data and clarify processes
Research and analyze discrepancies between rewards liability calculations and GL balances
Define and document inflow and outflow categories (earn, redeem, return, etc.) across monthly GL processes and quarterly true-up processes, noting differences in timing, source systems, and methodologies
Create detailed process flows outlining how points are earned, redeemed, returned, and ultimately recorded in the GL, including:
Cardmember statements
Points bank (Epsilon)
Third-party rewards fulfillment vendors
Map GL account descriptions to redemption types, with a focus on system-generated (ICS) journal entries
Assess whether discrepancies are driven by:
Timing differences between earn and redemption
Missing point categories
Cost-per-point (CPP) mismatches resulting in GL leakage
Evaluate redemption types (cash deposits, statement credits, travel, merchandise, gift cards, etc.) to understand fulfillment timing and GL impact for both original redemptions and returns
Review redemption invoices to confirm correct CPP application and ensure returns are accurately captured
Identify redemption mismatches, including instances where redemptions are posted to incorrect portfolios
Develop recommendations for improving or adjusting the quarterly true-up process to address timing or points mismatches
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree
Strong accounting background with deep understanding of: General ledger structures, Chart of accounts, Journal IDs and journal entries, Cost centers
Solid knowledge of GAAP
Experience working with large data sets and source systems (e.g., SARV / mainframe reports)
Strong analytical skills across transactional and operational data
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis
Proven experience performing balance sheet and P&L reconciliations (period-over-period, process-to-process)
Demonstrated success conducting financial analysis on complex issues
Experience with variance analysis (rate/volume)
Ability to work independently and manage deliverables end to end
Advanced experience with general ledger (GL) reconciliations
10+ years of relevant professional experience
Background in Financial Services or Banking strongly preferred (not required)
Preferred
Master's Degree
CPA and/or MBA
Knowledge of credit card industry rewards or loyalty program accounting
Prior experience in financial services
Experience with Essbase
Experience with Workday (GL system)
