Responsibilities
Serve as the primary statistician for assigned home games using the NCAA Genius Sports software
Arrive a minimum of 45 minutes to an hour prior to the scheduled game time to prepare equipment and review assignments
Accurately input statistics using sport-specific knowledge and Genius Sports program functionality
Collaborate with the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications to report and resolve any technical issues, discrepancies, or post-game edits
Maintain a high level of accuracy and focus during fast-paced game environments
Ability and availability to commit to working 29 home basketball contests during the season (November through February). Men's and Women's basketball are typically double headers with women's playing the first game and men the second game. Weeknight games are typically 5:30 to 7:30pm. Saturday games times can vary
Qualification
Required
Strong knowledge of rules, gameplay, and stat interpretation for basketball
Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure and assist with conflict resolution if needed
Strong attention to detail and reliability
Ability to work nights and weekends
Commitment to the success of intercollegiate athletics and student-athletes
Understanding and alignment with the mission and values of Vanguard University
Preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum two years of experience using NCAA Genius Sports stat software (preferred)
