Responsibilities
Lead commissioning planning, PFT/FPT execution, field observation, testing, verification, and issue resolution for electrical, mechanical, and integrated MEP systems
Oversee functional performance testing
Conduct site surveys, condition assessments, and field inspections to verify installations meet specifications, safety requirements, and operational readiness
Interface with contractors, equipment vendors, and utility providers during system energization, testing, and commissioning
Provide oversight for engineering design of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and renewable systems
Direct the preparation and review of electrical construction documents
Conduct site assessments, evaluate existing systems, prepare condition assessments, and develop cost estimates and upgrade recommendations
Ensure compliance with NEC, building codes, energy codes, MEP best practices, and all applicable regulatory frameworks
Manage engineering and delivery of electrification projects including EV charging infrastructure, PV/renewable generation, grid‑connected battery storage, and microgrid components
Support energy transition and decarbonization initiatives through system upgrades, resilience planning, and electrification‑driven modernization efforts
Lead utility coordination for service upgrades, interconnection requirements, load forecasting, and large‑scale charging/hybrid power projects
Integrate LEED BD+C strategies into project design (metering, controls, energy performance, lighting efficiency, renewable integration, commissioning documentation)
Conduct energy assessments and system performance analyses to support carbon‑reduction goals and regulatory compliance
Coordinate sustainability goals with architects, planning teams, and owner requirements
Provide expertise on renewable energy systems, PV integration, battery storage, and resilience strategies
Support clients in achieving sustainability goals through energy audits, efficiency measures, and whole‑building performance optimization
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
15+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, MEP project management, or commissioning of complex facilities
Strong working knowledge of NEC, building codes, energy codes, and electrical/MEP design standards
Proven experience in large‑scale commissioning roles on complex infrastructure projects
Experience working with water utilities, transit agencies, EPC contractors, and public‑sector owners
Experience working on electrification/energy transition projects
LEED AP BD+C credential
Excellent communication, technical writing, and stakeholder coordination skills
Strong proficiency with energy codes, building codes, NEC, construction processes, commissioning protocols, and energy systems
