Responsibilities

Contribute to the planning process of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range plans using a planning tool, such as (Planful, Vena, Datarails)
Build and maintain financial models to support scenario analysis, cost tracking, and revenue forecasting
Gather and validate assumptions from business stakeholders to ensure accuracy and alignment
Utilize existing solutions to automate monthly departmental reports, delivering clear and actionable variance analysis to highlight department performance indicators
Track and explain trends in KPIs, including revenue drivers, margins, and operational metrics
Collaborate with IT, Product, Sales, and Operations to provide timely financial insights and decision support
Track and monitor new and existing business cases such as investment on new business initiatives, product launches, and cost optimization opportunities
Partner with Engineering, Product, and IT to analyze and optimize cloud spend and on-prem spend (AWS)
Own cloud cost allocation and tagging governance
Monitor usage-based cost drivers and translate them into forecast assumptions
Track and validate realized savings from optimization initiatives (rightsizing, reservations, storage lifecycle)
Build unit cost metrics (e.g., cost per device, user, transaction, or workload)
Improve cloud spend forecast accuracy and variance explanations
Utilize AI to implement budget alerts, anomaly detection, and financial guardrails
Work with IT and Product to support make vs buy and architectural cost trade-off decisions
Educate stakeholders on cost-aware engineering and financial accountability

Required

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (Finance, Accounting, Economics)
2-3 years of experience in FP&A
2-3 years of FinOps cloud experience
Familiarity with financial modeling, data analysis, and variance reporting
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, V lookups, basic financial modeling)
Experience with ERP systems (Epicor, Sage, SAP, JDEdwards and NetSuite) and BI tools (Power BI and Tableau)
Solid understanding of financial statements and budgeting/forecasting processes
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Effective communicator with the ability to simplify complex data for non-finance stakeholders
Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Ability to operate successfully in a lean, fast-paced organization
Technology enthusiast demonstrated through work experience, hobbies, and/or education
Agile Mindset – the ability to work in an iterative manner that allows for rapid prototyping, effective feedback loops, and the ability to meet aggressive timelines
