Responsibilities
Implement and improve reinforcement learning algorithms used in model training
Partner closely with the data team to define reward signals and training objectives
Fine-tune and refine models using open-weight and proprietary foundations
Run experiments, analyze results, and iterate based on empirical outcomes
Turn research ideas into stable, repeatable training pipelines
Debug training instability and improve training performance (efficiency, reliability, throughput)
Qualification
Required
Hands-on experience with Reinforcement Learning (RL)
Hands-on experience with LLMs (training or fine-tuning in real systems, not just theory)
Strong Python skills
Strong PyTorch experience
Strong R&D / experimentation skills (designing experiments, analyzing outcomes, iterating)
Excellent technical documentation ability (clear experiment writeups, white papers, design notes)
Ability to work with scoped requirements, while applying creative problem-solving
Ability to articulate work clearly both orally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred
CUDA familiarity and/or performance optimization experience
Distributed training / large-scale experimentation experience
Prior work on LLM training stacks or modern fine-tuning workflows
Published research, patents, or strong proof-of-work artifacts
Startup / fast-moving environment experience
