Responsibilities
Receive and understand customer drawings and samples
Conceptualize and present design ideas for assigned projects
Use 3-D modeling to develop new parts and assemblies or revise existing parts and assemblies
Create and maintain mechanical designs and engineering documents associated with existing and new products
Determine appropriate source for fabrication of custom parts
Manage vendors and outsourcing
Fabricate, assemble, and ensure mechanical functionality of assigned projects
Assist test engineers in verifying proper operation of new designs
Direct technicians in assembly of design
Troubleshooting complex shop problems and developing solutions to design and manufacturing related issues
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
3+ years of mechanical design engineering experience
Proficiency with SOLIDWORKS (3D solid modeling, etc.)
Knowledge of manufacturing processes (metal fabrication, assembly, machining, etc.)
Proficiency with mechanical shops tools including lathe and mill
Understanding of use of CNC equipment
Ability to utilize hand tools, drills, soldering iron, etc. to assemble products
General knowledge of Electricity, Electronics, Pneumatics
Ability to read and work from electronic schematics
