Administrative Technician
Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is seeking an Administrative Technician to provide advanced technical and administrative support within the Staffing Department. The role involves processing, coordinating, tracking, and deploying nursing services to ensure patient care needs and efficient department operations.

Responsibilities
Perform advanced administrative support activities, including managing multiple databases, spreadsheets and software to accurately staff the patient care areas with the appropriate licensed and unlicensed staff
Compose, prepare, or track staff related information such as time and attendance and training
Arrange schedules and prepare written records of information
Collect, compile, and extract data from computer systems, databases, statistical, accounting, and administrative records
Compile records and create reports, charts, and graphs, spreadsheet, and database software to support management decision-making
Track and monitor program-related information and ensure accuracy and confidentiality of records
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
19 years of age
Proficient in English, including the ability to read, write, speak and comprehend effectively
Coursework/training or experience related to research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency; business administration; accounting; customer service; and/or technical support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management
Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and regulations
Ability to formulate and recommend alternative courses of action
Ability to retrieve and summarize technical data from multiple sources
Ability to coordinate resources and personnel
Ability to maintain accurate and confidential records
Knowledge of program-administrative policies and guidelines
Knowledge of office processes, procedures, and associated computer applications
Knowledge of customer service principles
Knowledge of specialized terminology related to assigned work
Skill in active listening and effective communication
Skill in time management, scheduling, and prioritization
Skill in word processing and spreadsheet creation
Skill in developing charts, graphs, and reports
Skill in monitoring and assessing program performance
Skill in applying critical thinking techniques
Preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and creating charts, graphs, and reports
Experience working with medical record systems
