Responsibilities
Procuring parts used directly in the manufacturing process of large industrial machinery
Manage the assigned commodities and suppliers
Meet parts cost, quality and availability goals
Develop, source, and manage foreign / domestic suppliers
Buy parts and materials necessary to support production requirements
Perform all procurement duties
Manage all supplier contracts
Collaborate with Engineers, Finance, Quality, Marketing, and suppliers understand instructions
Achieve cost savings plans with current suppliers and seek new opportunities with potential new suppliers
Assist production in inventory availability and quality problems
Evaluate new sources of supply
Identify potential suppliers by reviewing previous domestic and foreign suppliers. Involve quality competitive suppliers early in the design cycle
Handle quote request forms from potential suppliers
Process Engineering change requests and change notices to suppliers and negotiate pricing
Qualification
Required
BS degree in business, Finance or related
BS Degree
4+ years' experience Buying in a manufacturing operation (Heavy Industrial, Automotive, or similar industry)
CPIM certification, or other APICS certification
Detailed knowledge of purchasing policies, procedures
Experience creating price analysis
Knowledge of import/export issues
Knowledge of pricing of raw materials, labor rates, and manufacturing costs
Ability to read and understand blueprints, bills of materials, formal engineering change processes, supplier processes
Strong MS Office including Outlook, Excel, Word
Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder
