Junior Accountant
Builders Exchange of Rochester is dedicated to serving the commercial construction community in the region. The Junior Accountant will support the financial operations by assisting with day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, and compliance activities, ensuring accurate financial records for various programs and initiatives.

Responsibilities
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, member billing, and payment tracking
Record financial transactions in the general ledger
Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
Assist with bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
Maintain accurate financial records for events and special programs
Prepare basic financial reports and schedules for internal review
Prepare Quarterly Sales Tax Returns
Support budget tracking and expense monitoring
Assist with audit preparation and provide documentation as requested
Ensure compliance with internal controls, association policies, and applicable regulations
Maintain organized financial files and documentation
Provide general accounting and administrative support to the Accounting Manager as needed
Ability to attend events after hours as needed
Qualification
Required
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
Familiarity with nonprofit or association accounting is a plus
Basic understanding of GAAP principles
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Strong organizational and communication skills
Superior written and oral communication skills with the ability to maintain attention to detail, consistency, and grammar
Professional demeanor establishes rapport quickly
Highly organized individual with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet competing deadlines
A positive and curious attitude, working well independently and in a collaborative team environment
Digitally savvy and able to learn new systems and software quickly
High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information
Positive attitude and customer oriented
Preferred
1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
Familiarity with nonprofit or association accounting is a plus
