Responsibilities
Own end-to-end data integration programs, from discovery and scoping through delivery and stabilization
Engage closely with upstream data producers to understand source systems, data availability, constraints, and quality considerations
Partner with downstream consumers to define data contracts, access patterns, SLAs, and consumption requirements
Define and standardize integration patterns, including batch, micro-batch, and streaming ingestion approaches
Drive decisions around data load formats (CSV, JSON, Parquet, Avro), load frequency, schema evolution, and partitioning strategies
Coordinate provisioning and governance of service accounts, IAM permissions, and secure access patterns
Work with engineering teams to orchestrate pipelines using Cloud Composer (Airflow) and manage transformations using Dataform or equivalent SQL-based frameworks
Partner with platform, security, and governance teams to ensure compliance with enterprise data standards and policies
Actively manage program risks, dependencies, and delivery timelines; communicate status clearly to technical and business stakeholders
Embed quality, observability, and operational readiness into all integrations, including validation checks and runbooks
Qualification
Required
6–10+ years of experience in data-focused roles such as Technical Program Manager, Data Engineering Program Manager, or Data Engineer with significant program ownership
Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, including ingestion patterns, ELT/ETL design, data modeling, and data quality practices
Meaningful hands-on exposure to GCP data services, including: BigQuery (performance tuning, partitioning, cost considerations), Cloud Composer (Airflow) for orchestration, Dataform or similar SQL-based transformation tools
Experience working with Informatica for enterprise data integration and Teradata as a data warehouse or source system
Proficiency with SQL for data validation, analysis, and troubleshooting
Practical understanding of cloud IAM, service accounts, and least-privilege access design
Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical integration solutions
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred
Experience with CDC and streaming technologies (e.g., Pub/Sub, Kafka)
Familiarity with data observability, lineage, and cataloging tools
Exposure to cost optimization and FinOps practices in cloud data platforms
Background in large-scale enterprise data environments
