Responsibilities

Deliver premium technical support in content and time to assigned customers
Accountable to drive design wins in their target accounts and target technology
Leads proof of concept, solution design and demonstrations to secure NXP solution’s design-in
Synthesizes customer and competitive insights to improve product definition and roadmaps
Direct the NXP design-in campaigns for assigned customers to ensure early involvement in the customer’s technology roadmap and timely flow of information to all necessary parties within NXP and customer
Understand and communicate how ecosystem solutions can position NXP in the best possible manner
Qualifies sales opportunities in terms of customer technical requirements and establishes NXP's value proposition/position relative to the competition
Qualifies the value of NXP's products (strengths versus competitive products) and quantifies the technical benefits derived from choosing NXP
Own the system software architect role to ensure broader technical team understands the software value proposition for system proposals
Successfully build relationships with sales team members, business lines, partners and customers in support of sales team objectives
Analyze customer's technical objectives through the use of relevant data gathering techniques enabling the sales team to be more predictive, effective and responsive to customer needs
Assist in educating Field Sales Engineers on new technologies, new product features and their related business value
Develops system level knowledge of target application spaces

Required

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 5 years development engineering or applications support of microcontroller based embedded systems
Field Application Engineering experience in the semiconductor industry
Experience with C and C++ and a record of developing embedded firmware
Demonstrated knowledge of typical SoC hardware interfaces (Ethernet, MIPI, SDIO, LP DDR3/4, Quad/Octal SPI, USB2.0/3.0, UART, SPI, I2C)
Knowledge of ARM Cortex-M cores and programming model
Willing to travel (up to 25%, mostly Western US area focused)
Proven track record of quickly learning new technologies
Develop system level understanding of target end-applications

Preferred

Experience using Real-Time OS systems: FreeRTOS and Zephyr preferred
Knowledge in AI principals and models and graphics and video subsystems helpful
Ability to read, understand and review schematics and provide design recommendations highly desirable
Motor Control/Robotics experience a plus
Experienced in providing technical training to sales staff and distributors
