CMM Inspector - AMT

Responsibilities
Reads and interprets aerospace manufacturing drawings, including tolerances, customer specifications and technical requirements
Operates CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) to dimensionally inspect product
Manually inspects parts using CMM
Interprets CMM results to accurately compare product to engineering drawings/specifications and electronic models with supervision
Edits CMM programming online with supervision
Accurately compares product to engineering drawings/specifications, purchase order, and manufacturing orders using common manual inspection equipment, (e.g., PCM’s, height gage, dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, protractors, profilometers, bore gauges etc) to accept or reject product to customer engineering requirements
Documents product acceptance/rejection on manufacturing order, processes any necessary rejection documentation, and performs various MRP system functions
Performs Rockwell and Eddy Current testing for product acceptance
Understands and applies statistical sampling techniques
Reviews outside processing certifications of nondestructive testing, chemical processing, and finish, and verify physical appearance of final product for conformance to engineering specifications
Fully capable of understanding, performing, and completing FAI’s in accordance with Company and AS9102 requirements
Follows all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures

Qualification
Required

Follows verbal and written instructions; works independently with a minimum of supervision
Company policy awareness: Understands and complies with company policies and guidelines as described in the Employee Handbook, the Employee Safety Manual and the Quality Management System. Complies with rules and procedures of a drug-free workplace
Preferred
A minimum of five years hands-on inspection experience operating a CMM in a regulated industry
Two years (recent) hands-on inspection experience operating a CMM in the aerospace industry
Basic ability to use CAD systems (CATIA, AutoCAD)
Basic ability to use Engineering Drawings
Basic Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
High school diploma or equivalent
Trade school or college courses in related fields (e.g., CMM, blueprint reading, GD&T)

Shift Premiums for Weekend Shifts - work 33 hours, paid for 40 (weekend night shift) or work 36 hours, paid for 40 (weekend day shift)
