Responsibilities
Design, develop, and enhance scalable data pipelines
Manage ETL/ELT processes to streamline data ingestion and transformation
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, governance, and compliance across platforms
Build and maintain data models, warehouses, and lakehouse architectures
Optimize database performance and improve query execution
Apply data partitioning, indexing, and other optimization strategies
Leverage cloud platforms and big data technologies for storage and processing
Partner with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to meet data requirements
Implement and uphold data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance measures
Practice data governance to ensure data quality, accessibility, and proper usage
Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain the reliability of data pipelines
Automate workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort
Stay informed on evolving data engineering tools, industry trends, and best practices
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience, including designing, developing, and automating ETL/ELT pipelines
Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher)
Prior experience with BI tools, cloud platforms, and big data technologies, with proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or Scala
Familiarity with data modeling, warehousing, and lakehouse architectures, with knowledge of data optimization, governance, security, and compliance best practices
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
Must be comfortable working onsite full-time and traveling (up to 15% of the time), primarily to Scott AFB in O'Fallon, IL, and/or Norfolk Naval Base in Norfolk, VA

Preferred
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
Prior experience with the USTRANSCOM systems, Qlik, Advana tool suite, Maven Smart System, and/or Databricks
