Test Technician, Wear Room

Responsibilities

Perform initial parts set-up including digital pictures, micrometer measurements, visual inspections, installation of thermocouples, and parts labeling
Document and report all defects or malfunctions to determine any adjustments required by Customers or engineers
Inspect test parts to determine nature or cause of defects or malfunctions
Basic use of RevData Plus and ability to interpret data
Ensure all schedules are kept up to date and projects are moving through their LabLINK states in a timely manner
Analyze final measurements on post-test parts and verify test specifications in order to provide engineering reports that meet Customer specifications
Read and understand test specifications for inertia dynamometer, vehicle and component bench testing projects
Use a Windows based computer system to access relevant test procedures and quality system documents, enter measurement data, store and retrieve files from the network, etc
Ensure work is performed in a safe manner using all available safety equipment
All other related duties as assigned
Possess mental faculties consistent with performing the minimum requirements of the job

Qualification

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in an automotive engineering laboratory, automotive repair, heavy truck repair or electronics
Proven experience working with tools and testing equipment
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and computer-based file structures
Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to walk
Ability to speak verbally and read in English
Ability to see with corrective lenses
Ability to hear
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity
Ability to use a computer
Able to work overtime, nights and/or weekends as required
Ability to travel up to 10% domestically
