Assistant Director Finance
The Johns Hopkins University is seeking an Assistant Director of Finance who will report to a senior finance leader in a school or large department. This role involves supporting financial analysis, budget development, and operational leadership to enhance financial effectiveness.

Responsibilities
Assist and support the finance unit leader and administrative leaders with budget preparation and projections
Assist and support the finance unit leader with planning and development of new programs including completion of business plans with cost analysis, resources and capital needs
Recommend budget adjustments and other cost improvement measures
Perform complex statistical, cost and financial analysis of financial reports and data, and prepare subsequent narrative analysis for management
Responsible for accuracy and timeliness of consolidated financial statements and financial analyses
Develop regular and ad hoc financial reports for forecasting, trending and results analysis
Develop and participate in the development of reporting systems
Perform complex statistical, cost, and financial analysis of data reported in various accounting systems
Plan, review and conduct complex studies to determine cost of business activities
Provide administrative leadership in the development of efficient and effective financial processes, procedures and policies
Utilize knowledge and serve as a resource for others regarding the institution’s financial accounting systems
Directly supervise and/or indirectly oversee the work of finance staff in the unit and across the designated area
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
Seven years of progressively responsible financial and administrative management experience
Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula
