Institutional Personnel Officer
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is seeking an Institutional Personnel Officer to manage the functions of the Personnel and Return-to-Work offices. The role involves supervising various personnel functions, ensuring compliance, and providing support to department heads in personnel-related matters.

Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and direct all functions of the Personnel and Return-to-Work offices
Initiate, develop, and establish procedures and ensure proper compliance for department
Supervise Hiring & Recruitment, Return-to-Work Programs, Classification & Pay, Position Control, the Personnel Supervisor II for Transactions, and the clerical support staff for the reception area
Indirectly supervise two (2) Custody Timekeepers, three (3) Personnel Supervisor I’s (PSI) for the Transaction staff, and one (1) Senior Personnel Specialist in Workers’ Compensation
Provide assistance to Division/Department Heads regarding reclassification needs, hiring and recruitment, and specialized projects with Personnel related matters
Provide ongoing training and evaluations of subordinate technical and clerical staff
Prepare reports and research complex personnel related matters
Qualification
Required
Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment
If you are meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, you must include your unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification
Official transcripts may be required upon appointment
Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by departmental annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter
Applicants who completed their education outside of the US (with foreign degrees/transcripts) must obtain and submit verification of U.S. course/degree equivalency
