Responsibilities
Monitor database performance and implement tuning measures
Perform regular backups and ensure data recovery procedures
Manage database security and user access controls
Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries
Implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues
Document database configurations, procedures, and policies
Automate routine database tasks using scripts and tools
Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards
Qualification
Required
Experience & Subject matter expert knowledge required on DB2, Oracle & SQL technologies
Experience with DB2 on both LUW (Linux, Unix, Windows) is highly desirable
Work with Application team, system administrators, and other stakeholders to maintain data integrity, availability, and security of our data assets
Expected to monitor DB performance, implement changes, and apply patches
Table/Schema refresh using HVR & HVR / GG replication monitoring
Candidate will be responsible for backup and recovery strategies, disaster recovery planning, and ensuring compliance with data governance and security policies
Should have knowledge on troubleshooting database issues, optimizing queries, and supporting application development teams with database-related tasks
Should have a strong understanding of database architecture, indexing, partitioning, and replication
Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python)
Strong communication skills are essential
Preferred
Familiarity with scripting languages, automation tools, and monitoring solutions will be considered a plus
