Aircraft Assembly Mechanics
The Boeing Company is a leading aerospace manufacturer, and they are seeking Aircraft Assembly Mechanics to support the 787-production system in North Charleston, South Carolina. Responsibilities

Quality: Maintaining rigorous quality standards in all deliverables, ensuring that our work meets or exceeds expectations and complies with all regulatory and company requirements
Must successfully complete the new hire foundational training to obtain and maintain all required certifications
Proficient use of a computer in a dynamic production environment
Look up/read/comprehend electronic technical work instructions, drawings and/or specifications
Wear appropriate protective clothing/equipment determined by the task performed
Operate various mechanical lifts (e.g. ladders, tiger and snorkel lifts)
Use various hand tools and diagnostic equipment such as screwdrivers, ratchets, power screwdriver multi meters, continuity testers
Apply chemical solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints and special finishes
Inspect your work quality and check for Foreign Object Debris
Work around energized sources (electrical equipment and hazards/shock, e.g. circuit breakers and wiring) and exposure to constant noise
Finger manipulation (keyboarding, other)
Lifting and carrying up to 10-35 pounds
Climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, crouching (squatting)
Flexion/Extension (head bent down, head bent back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching (overhead), rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist and walking
Install various aircraft system components and wiring such as: tubing, valves, regulators, actuators, compressors, ducts, and interior components
Route wire harnesses to supports, install connectors to receptacles and electronic components
Fiber optic clean and inspection, light loss testing, routing and installation
Work in confined space and respirator usage
Qualification
Required
Ability to work a variable shift as noted further below
Ability to meet physical demands of the role such as flexion and extension (head bent down, head bent back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching overhead, rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist and walking, climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, crouching (squatting)
Ability to lift/carry up to 10-35 pounds
Ability to work with high-hazard chemicals
Ability to complete and maintain Confined Space and Fall Protection certifications, as required
1+ years of experience using software applications such as internet navigation, email, Microsoft Office Suite, and/or other specialized computer applications
1+ years of experience following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications, in English
1+ years of experience applying mathematical calculations
1+ years of experience in a technical, or mechanical field performing work with basic hand, power, and/or pneumatic (air) tools
Preferred
3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
3+ years of experience installing various aircraft system components such as tubing, valves, regulators, actuators, compressors, ducts, and interior components
3+ years of experience in Automotive/Diesel/Heavy equipment mechanical experience
3+ years of experience wire routing, dressing, hook-up/mating connections
3+ years of experience applying sealant to required surfaces per specifications
