Desktop System Administrator
OtterBase is seeking an experienced IT Support professional to provide hands-on technical support across hardware, software, and end user environments. This role supports day-to-day IT operations, business critical events, and project-based initiatives while delivering a high level of customer service.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues by identifying symptoms, diagnosing root causes, and implementing timely resolutions or workarounds in accordance with SLAs
Collaborate with internal technical teams and external vendors to resolve complex issues when required
Fulfill service requests for new and replacement hardware, including imaging, configuration, software installation, domain enrollment, security patching, and deployment to end users
Perform data transfers and provide end user training on new equipment and software
Review, manage, and document incidents and service requests assigned through ServiceNow, ensuring accurate and thorough work notes
Open and manage incidents for users who contact IT directly and provide ongoing status updates
Support business events such as large scale meetings, markets, and on site or off site company events
Participate in business projects involving hardware or software deployments, including documentation development, testing, and execution of project tasks
Lead small project initiatives when required, with limited supervision
Provide white-glove support to Executive Leadership as needed
Evaluate new hardware and software solutions to meet evolving business needs
Prioritize workload effectively and adapt to a fast paced, changing corporate environment
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field with 2 to 4 years of relevant experience, or equivalent training and certifications
Strong proficiency with Microsoft applications including Office, Teams, Teams Rooms, OneDrive, and OneNote
Experience supporting Windows operating systems and related tools
Hands on experience with Active Directory, MFA, network shares, network printing, VPNs, DNS, wired and wireless networking, 802.1x, and multi VLAN environments
Working knowledge of Mobile Device Management tools such as Intune or Meraki
Experience supporting Apple devices including iPhones, iPads, iMacs, and MacBooks
Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Willingness to travel up to 25 percent
Preferred
Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft, or similar
Computer hardware training or certifications
Working knowledge of scripting languages such as batch, bash, or PowerShell
Experience with deployment tools including SCCM, Sysprep, Macrium, and MDM platforms
Familiarity with audiovisual equipment and distributed audio and video systems
