Entry Level Scientist or Geologist - Spring 2026

Responsibilities
Supporting preliminary assessments, site characterization, and remediation projects
Collection of environmental samples
Site inspections
Data management
Waste management
Routine groundwater well pumping/treatment operations
Monitoring and maintenance system support
Characterize soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, treated discharge
Collect air samples and perform routine sampling and testing
Oversee specialty subcontractors performing maintenance, investigation, drilling, survey and remediation work
Develop NYSDEC-type, NJDEP-type, USEPA-type and other regulatory reporting technical documents
Complete tasks within schedule and budget
Communicate the status of tasks to project managers
Lead and support safety 'incident free' operations in the office and in the field
Qualification
Required
At least one year of experience working on environmental investigation, remediation and/or construction sites, or in a similar environmental-related field
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science
Experience with using Microsoft Office-based software, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Valid driver's license with no major infractions
Must be a United States Citizen
An understanding of the implications of environmental regulations
Knowledge of environmental compliance and client interactions/relationships
Basic knowledge of federal and NJDEP environmental regulations
Ability to perform field work and regional travel 90% to 100% of the time
Ability to obtain/maintain 40-hr HAZWOPER certification
Preferred
Currently located in the Northern New Jersey Area
Ability to actively work outdoors throughout the year
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
