Responsibilities
Own the enterprise application architecture for S/4 HANA carve out and transformation, defining target state architectures, roadmaps and standards across SAP SD, SM, MM, WM, PP & FICO modules
Lead end to end solution design for S/4 HANA implementations including carve outs from existing SAP landscapes in the manufacturing and services space
Act as the principal SAP SME and trusted advisor for senior leaders across IT, manufacturing operations, Supply chain, Sales and finance regarding S/4 HANA capabilities, roadmap and risks
Lead design authority for all S/4 HANA enabled processes, ensuring solution follow best practice clean-core architecture principles, enable performance stability and scalability from manufacturing context
Perform Fit gap analysis and oversee solution quality for non-functional requirements (performance, reliability, security, usability) across S/4 HANA and integrated applications
Facilitate cross-functional workshops, steering committee discussions and design sessions translating complex architectural concepts into clear options and recommendations
Provide expert-level functional knowledge of SAP modules (e.g., MM, SD, PP, QM, WM, FI/CO,) and cross-functional integration points
Develop and maintain an integrated blueprint spanning SAP core, surrounding SaaS/On-Prem solutions (UKG, PLM/Team Center, IFM/GIB, Vertex, Medius, OneStream and integration across edge/boundary systems ensuring consistent data and process flows
Chair ARB (Architecture review board) meetings and design standards, including integration patterns, data patterns, master data governance approaches and GRC security compliance considerations across the SAP landscape
Partner with PMO to build and execute multi release roadmaps, aligning program milestones with business readiness, change impacts and value realization
Guide the design of end-to-end testing strategies (unit, integration (SIT), regression and UAT) ensuring coverage of critical cross system processes and integrations
Provide expert level support during cutovers Go-Lives and hyper care ensuring stable transition from project to operations
Define and promote robust integration patterns (API, IDoc, SFTP, iPaaS/middleware) and data governance practices to ensure stable, secure and high-quality data flows across systems
Collaborate with project managers, business owners, AMS/Support teams to ensure repeatable implementation patterns, quality gates and documentation standards
Contribute to release and change management frameworks, ensuring impacts on architecture and integrations are systematically assessed and managed
Advocate continuous improvement and standardization principles across plants, business units, leveraging Lean/Six Sigma and data driven insights where appropriate
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
A minimum of 15 years of experience as SAP functional lead, with a proven track record of successful implementations (Greenfield/Brownfield) and support projects in at least three modules (SD, MM, PP, WM, FICO)
Strong manufacturing and supply chain background (Engineered to order, configure to order, make to order, make to stock, service management, Inventory optimization, MRP, BOM management and shop floor execution integration)
Solid understanding of data architecture, master data management and data migration strategies in SAP environments
Experience working in hybrid Agile/Waterfall delivery methodologies in go to market ERP or supply chain programs
Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at Director/C-suite level
Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities with track record of building and guiding high performing SAP and architecture teams
Preferred
Prior experience in heavy industrial, engineered products or complex manufacturing and field services environments
SAP and architecture framework certifications and familiarity with public/hybrid/On-prem cloud platforms
Experience with analytics, Azure data factory (ADF), Fabric supporting operational and financial KPI reporting in manufacturing and supply chain
