Responsibilities
Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory and mechanical engineering
Perform definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development, including mechanical detail design
Determine architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation
Define module interfaces/formats for simulation
Contribute to the development of multidimensional mechanical designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits
Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use
Design LGA and PGA socket for microprocessors including concept design and mechanical detail design
Develop test plan for existing and future socket products, including shock and vibration test, temperature life test, thermal cycling test, current rating test, high temperature and high humidity test
Conduct qualification test for various socket products
Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors
Under supervision, exercise limited judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles
Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products
Qualification
Required
Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
High-performance system and application software development in C or C++
Windows or Linux environments
Hardware system architecture and subsystem interface protocols
x86 or ARM
GPU, CPU, or SOC architecture
Functional modeling, architecture simulation, or hypervisor development
