Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate courses and associated laboratory sections in the nuclear engineering program
Engage and advance in the fields of teaching scholarship, cadet development, faculty development, as well as service and academic governance
Engage in the department’s New Instructor Training
Assist with the development, implementation, and execution of United States Military Academy (USMA) Nuclear Battlefield Warfighter Education program
Establish a research focus and act as thesis advisor or mentor for cadets' research projects
Support the personal growth and development of cadets in and out of the classroom, as a role model for future leaders of the Nation

Required

Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, OR possess a combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above
Only degrees from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education are acceptable to meet positive education requirements or to substitute education for experience
U.S. Citizens

Preferred

Academic accomplishment (Ph.D. preferred) in Nuclear Engineering, or closely related field(s) is preferred
Demonstrated potential to teach undergraduate introductory calculus-based nuclear engineering courses in the USMA curriculum
Ability to serve as a thesis advisor or mentor for cadet research projects and ability to serve as role-model for cadets
Demonstrated capability to contribute to the creation of a curriculum designed to educate combat leaders on the risks associated with nuclear reactor in future battlefields
Ability to contribute to faculty development, service and Academy governance
