Junior Accountant
Charter Schools USA (CSUSA) is one of the largest and highest-performing education management companies in the United States, proudly serving over 82,000 students. They are seeking a Junior Accountant to assist with various accounting functions, including preparing financial statements, performing bank reconciliations, and maintaining financial records.
Responsibilities
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for multiple entities, which includes the following:
Perform bank reconciliations
Prepare and post required journal entries
Review & reconcile all balance sheet accounts
Prepare summary of significant events and budget variances
Prepare supporting documentation for financial statements including balance sheet schedules and other reconciliations
Work closely with independent auditors during annual financial statement audit with preparing schedules and invoices, providing explanations of supporting materials and procedures, and preparing any other necessary data
Posting of accounts to the General Ledger for:
Accounts Receivable
Cash Receipts
Accounts Payable
Cash Disbursements
Payroll
Maintain records of all financial documents with appropriate supporting material, update records as necessary
Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, schools, and others in a courteous and professional manner
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions
Provide support such as schedules, data, information, etc. for the annual budget process
Qualification
Required

Good knowledge of company and departmental policies and procedures
Demonstrates knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements for K-12 schools and charter school law
Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or related field
1-3 years bookkeeping or other relevant accounting experience
Computer Basics -- MS Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); proficiency in accounting software
