The role involves developing and implementing Quality Assurance systems, resolving quality issues by interacting with customers and suppliers, and analyzing supplier performance data to drive improvements.

Responsibilities
Practice prudent quality principles and effectively apply formal quality training to identify and improve technical and systemic supplier quality problems
Participate and contribute productively as part of Altec’s team-oriented quality assurance, design, manufacture and customer service/support efforts
Communicate with supplier, Altec associates and customers on issues of technical specifications, product design and operation as appropriate
Lead and participate in on-site and teleconference improvement and problem-solving meetings with suppliers and Altec teams
Analyze supplier performance data and drive improvement activities
Train suppliers and Altec associates in quality related methods and systems
Audit supplier’s quality systems and drive associated corrective actions
Manage supplier corrective actions using Altec’s Supplier Portal
Review and approve supplier new products and changes using PPAP and other change management techniques
Keep accurate and detailed records of supplier performance tracking, meetings and communications
Operate with some decision-making latitude within the scope of an assignment
Know and apply fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in the quality field
Utilize Lean principles to improve our products and processes
Manage various sizes of Altec projects
May act as Team Lead
Champion corporate-wide containments and act as a liaison between local plant resources and suppliers
Qualification
Required
ABET EAC certified Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a Master's Degree in Engineering
Minimum of two (2) years' experience in an engineering role after earning the Degree in Engineering
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to work with team members and work with minimal supervision
Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time, potentially on short notice, which may include flying
