Responsibilities
Lead and manage day-to-day AP operations for US and Canadian entities, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing, payments, and reconciliations
Manage, coach, and develop a remote AP team; set clear expectations, monitor performance, and foster engagement and accountability
Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and applicable US and Canadian regulatory requirements
Identify, design, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
Drive standardization across regions while remaining flexible to local requirements
Partner with Finance, Procurement, and IT to support system enhancements, automation initiatives, and implementations of new ERP and AP automation tools, as applicable
Lead change management efforts, including training, documentation, and stakeholder communication
Deliver excellent customer service to internal partners and external vendors, ensuring timely issue resolution and clear communication
Act as a key point of escalation for AP-related inquiries and complex issues across regions
Build strong relationships with business partners to improve collaboration and service outcomes
Monitor KPIs (cycle time, accuracy, aging, vendor inquiries) and use data to drive continuous improvement
Support month-end and year-end close activities, audits, and ad-hoc reporting
Ensure consistent application of policies and strong internal controls across regions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
7+ years of progressive Accounts Payable experience, including multi-entity or international exposure
Proven success leading process improvements and managing change in fast-paced environments
Strong knowledge of AP best practices, internal controls, and US/Canadian compliance requirements
Experience managing, coaching and developing remote or distributed teams
Hands-on experience with ERP systems and AP automation tools
Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
Customer-focused mindset with the ability to balance service, excellence, control, and efficiency
