Field Service Representative
Caterpillar Inc. is a global team focused on creating sustainable communities. The Field Service Representative will install, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment at customer locations, providing on-site preventive maintenance and inspection service work on turbomachinery and package systems.

Responsibilities
Use a variety of test equipment to diagnose and identify malfunctions and may refer to schematics and manufacturers' specifications that provide instructions on how to locate problems with guidance of experienced field service personnel and/or supervisor
Under supervision use hand tools, gauges and instruments to analyze, repair or replace faulty parts. Utilize digital tools and systems
Observe and check for common causes of trouble, such as dirty or defective components, cleaning and lubricating equipment with guidance of experienced field service personnel and/or supervisor
Under supervision perform routine installations and making adjustments to equipment as appropriate within normal procedures
Qualification
Required
Degree or equivalent experience desired
Must be located in, or willing to relocate to Ontario-Toronto Area
Possess a technical qualification (license, certificate, technical degree, etc.) or a completed apprenticeship or equivalent experience
5+ years related work experience in power generation and/or gas compressors
5+ years of related industry experience including but not limited to, mechanics, maintenance engineers, or any field engineering experience
High school diploma, GED or equivalent
Willingness and ability to travel extensively 75-100% of the time within Canada and USA
Capable of a cross disciplined approach to the job
Ability to legally work in Canada and the United States
Clean Driving Record (this includes no moving violations within the last 12 months, no '2 point' violations within the last 3 years, and no DUI's within the last 7 years)
Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and a physical fitness evaluation
Candidate must successfully complete physical exam and obtain OGUK (offshore) certification by Solar-approved physician
Be able to obtain a legal Transportation Worker's Identification Credential
Preferred
Familiarity with rotating equipment
Experience may be either Mechanical or Instrument/ Electrical
Will be familiar with Gas Turbine theory and operational practice including control system logic, driven equipment and processes both upstream and downstream
Familiarity with MS Suite
Ability to program and basic troubleshooting on PLC systems
Experience in an overseas/offshore environment is desirable as is familiarity with rotating equipment and PLC systems
