Barry-Wehmiller is a diversified global supplier of engineering consulting and manufacturing technology. They are seeking a Co-Op in Project Engineering to support capital project execution, assist with engineering tasks, and contribute to project documentation while gaining hands-on experience in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
Support capital project execution by assisting with line layout development, equipment research, mechanical/process design tasks, and the integration of automated systems
Partner with our engineers, vendors, and contractors to gather technical information, support bid evaluations, and assist with equipment specifications and procurement
Help create engineering drawings, calculations, system layouts, and construction documentation using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or SolidWorks
Contribute to project documentation by organizing technical information, supporting change control processes, and assisting with continuous improvement efforts that strengthen project outcomes
Join senior engineers in evaluating existing manufacturing or packaging operations and help identify improvements that increase safety, efficiency, and overall performance
Participate in on‑site work such as installation support, start‑up observations, equipment walk‑downs, and troubleshooting—always with safety and integrity at the forefront of each task
Assist with coordinating portions of larger project schedules, team communication, and task tracking to help keep project teams aligned and successful
Travel as needed to client sites to support design, procurement, installation, and commissioning activities
Make a meaningful day‑to‑day impact while building relationships, learning from experienced teammates, and contributing to solutions that serve our clients well
Qualification
Required
Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, along with the capacity to support several project needs at once
Clear and thoughtful communication skills that help you collaborate with project teams, clients, and vendor partners
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
A willingness to travel for project work, on‑site support, team meetings, and learning opportunities
Enrollment in an ABET‑accredited engineering program (mechanical, electrical, chemical, or related)
Preferred
Prior experience—through internships, part‑time roles, class projects, campus organizations, or personal initiatives—related to engineering, design, manufacturing, programming, drafting, construction, or architecture
Familiarity with design and modeling software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or 3D modeling tools
Junior or senior standing
Interest in pursuing EIT certification upon graduation
