Environmental Scientist I
Alliance Technical Group is seeking an Environmental Scientist I to perform technical duties in aquatic biology, water quality, natural resource management, and environmental sciences. The role involves conducting field inspections, data collection, analysis, and communication of project findings to senior personnel.

Responsibilities
Performs technical work in the fields of water quality, natural resource management; wetlands science and environmental sciences including data collection, data analysis, and document preparation required to complete the company projects within time and budget requirements
Conducts field inspections and site visits on various projects to assess soil and erosion control best management practices and compliance with pollution prevention plans
Performs general field sampling including preparation for studies, actual field work, cleanup, and documentation of work, under general supervision
Performs physical and chemical sample collection/measurement. Completes physical characteristics evaluation including land-use/habitat analyses and data evaluation. Completes simple physiochemical measurements and water quality sampling including clean metals techniques sampling. Utilizes field meters, Hach kits, winkler, fluorometer and other field kits to collect data
Performs data entry, editing, analysis, plotting, and file manipulation on personal computers (e.g. EXCEL, SYSTAT, ACCESS)
Performs scientific research and literature reviews and extracts required information and data
Communicates project and company related information to senior level scientist, engineers, managing consultants and other in-house personnel as necessary: Writes letters, memos, technical reports, and summaries, and orally communicates project findings in meetings
Assists with maintenance, calibration, and procurement of field equipment. Specific could include: Weekly calibration of conductivity, DO, pH and temperature field instruments; Maintaining documentation of calibrations; Notification to appropriate individuals immediately if calibration supplies, DO, temperature, conductivity or pH meters need to be repaired or ordered; and Notification if you cannot perform weekly calibration
Keeps up with routinely used field equipment and supplies and notifies appropriate individuals when procurement is necessary
Efficient use of time, prioritizing billable work, but using non-billable time productively is essential. Seeks out assignments (through Project Engineers) of billable work as needed. Manages time considering a billable percentage target of 80%
Assists in company planning and management by completing special assignments and by recommending changes/improvements
