Lake Michigan Credit Union is seeking a SQL Database Administrator to ensure the stability, security, and performance of their SQL Server databases. The role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining SQL Server instances, as well as collaborating with application developers to optimize database performance.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances, ensuring optimal performance and availability
Implement and enforce database security policies and procedures, including access controls and data encryption
Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks and inefficiencies
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, index optimization, and database integrity checks
Collaborate with application developers to optimize SQL queries and database schema design
Develop and maintain documentation for database configurations, procedures, and best practices
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in SQL Server technologies, recommending and implementing relevant updates and improvements
Assists with special projects and other duties as assigned

Required

Three years to five years of similar or related experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field of study
Knowledge of SQL and SQL server tools, Windows Server infrastructures, and SSRS database technologies (Primarily MS SQL)

Preferred

Microsoft certification (MCSE/MCSA preferred)
Prior experience with SSAS, SSIS
Prior experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure)
Knowledge of PowerShell scripting
