Responsibilities
Research, design, develop, and/or test operating systems-level software, compilers, and/or network distribution software for semiconductor operations, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis
Plan, design, develop, and/or test software systems for software enhancements and new products
Set operational specifications and formulate and/or analyze software requirements
Design, build, and optimize scalable cloud infrastructure and platform services with a focus on reliability, performance, and security
Lead critical initiatives in observability, CI/CD, disaster recovery, and automation, driving improvements across systems and services that support large-scale semiconductor operations
Exercise wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments
Participate in code reviews, creating unit tests, authoring detailed documentation, and working with on-site and offshore teams to deliver the software solutions on schedule
Partake in all phases of the software development including system requirements analysis, coordinating feature design and development across functional and organization boundaries
Utilize expertise with computers and electronics, including computer hardware and software, applications, and programming, as well as knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology
Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products
Qualification
Required
Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
Three (3) years of experience in job offered or closely related engineering role
Position requires three (3) years of experience in the following: Azure cloud infrastructure design and management; Azure Kubernetes Service, Docker, and container orchestration; Creating, managing, and maintaining Azure DevOps pipelines; CI/CD (Jenkins or GitHub Actions); Terraform; and MongoDB
Preferred
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, and five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role
