Responsibilities
Completes prioritization, receipt, registration and distribution of specimens
Has responsibility for sendout/reference lab shipping, tracking and billing
Will perform waived testing, as requested
Will assist with processing of anatomic pathology specimens including preparation of microscopic tissue slides, staining and specimen management, as requested
Qualification
Required
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience: 3 years of laboratory experience
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Phlebotomy Certification where state law requires
Preferred
Education: Associates degree in laboratory or medical related field from an accredited institution preferred
Experience: Basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience preferred
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar preferred
