Project Manager - Data Center New Builds
Summit Skilled Solutions is seeking an experienced Project Manager to provide strong on-site leadership for data center construction projects across multiple locations. This role involves overseeing the full project lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards while maintaining client satisfaction and safety.

Responsibilities
Review client contracts and provide input to the Contracts Manager
Develop and maintain project plans that meet scope, budget, schedule, and quality objectives
Identify project requirements, necessary resources, and key risks; implement risk-management and contingency plans
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and client stakeholders on plans, changes, and deadlines
Support pre-job hazard analysis and maintain a strong safety culture on every project
Incorporate product data into SmartSheet and ensure all project information remains current
Assist with financial forecasting and communicate progress or changes impacting manpower and equipment
Define, monitor, and control manpower and equipment needs
Manage the project schedule and coordinate with client schedules to minimize downtime or conflicts
Oversee RFIs, change orders, and resolution of delays or on-site issues
Review and approve purchase orders, subcontracts, equipment rentals, and project costs
Ensure all safety and environmental standards are met
Manage project billing, daily time approvals, and all required project documentation and reporting
Establish communication frequency with clients, internal teams, and vendors to support informed decision-making
Coordinate resource assignments with Dispatch to align manpower and equipment with project needs
Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, issues resolution, and regular site meetings
Provide routine updates to Senior Project Management and client contacts
Represent company values in all interactions with team members, clients, and vendors
Qualification
Required
Must live within driving distance to Columbus, OH
Strong verbal and written communication abilities
Solid math and spreadsheet proficiency (Microsoft Excel – basic required)
Experience with Microsoft Outlook and project-management tools
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Planning, negotiation, forecasting, and change-management skills
Ability to manage client relationships and resolve conflicts effectively
Demonstrated teamwork across all levels and disciplines
Strong initiative with proactive problem-solving skills
Safety leadership and risk-mitigation capabilities
Project scheduling and resource-coordination experience
Leadership skills with the ability to anticipate needs and prepare teams
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant project-management experience
