Responsibilities
Lead daily & weekly accounting operations including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense reporting
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes including journal entry preparation & review, account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and more
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP in addition to various management reports
Review, implement, and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures regularly
Manage external audits and maintain relationships with auditors to stay abreast of accounting changes and ensure compliance
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
Monitor and report on cash flow and key financial performance metrics
Provide financial analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making
Oversee tax compliance and coordinate with external tax advisors
Oversee timely compliance reporting – e.g. Form 5500, 1099’s, etc
Lead and develop the members of the accounting team
Champion process improvements and evaluate opportunities to invest in new tools & technology to support the company’s key initiatives
Lead annual review of employee benefits and open enrollment process
Manage risk by partnering with the company’s broker during each year’s P&C insurance renewal
Prepare monthly sales tax reports and quarterly use tax reports
Facilitate monthly site-level P&L reviews with General Managers
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
6–10+ years of accounting experience, (ideally at a middle market company)
Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), project management, and prioritization skills
Proven ability to lead and develop a team; capable of leading cross-functional projects
Preferred
CPA strongly preferred (active or inactive)
