They are seeking a Vice President for their North America Transactional Risk team, who will be responsible for underwriting, risk assessment, broker management, and team development to contribute to the growth of the TR portfolio.

Responsibilities

Prepare and refer risk reviews and NBIL drafts in line with our underwriting appetite, guidelines and standards through review of sale and purchase agreements, financial statements, management presentations, legal memos and other due diligence reports, as applicable
Lead underwriting of primary and excess placements in the North America RWI or Tax market
Negotiate and draft insurance policy terms and language specifically addressing the risks and issues in each transaction
Develop and build a broker network and speak directly to brokers to win and manage underwriting opportunities/deals
Train and provide guidance to junior staff to help develop their underwriting skills and build a successful team; maintain a collegial environment; collaborate with fellow underwriters
Assist with ensuring that key procedures are carried out appropriately and efficiently for every submission and live deal
Contribute to the development of Global TR strategies, product suites, and processes
Serve as an advocate for the Global TR practice, actively promoting its achievements and strengthening Chubb’s overall reputation

Can-do mentality and able to work within Chubb underwriting guidelines
3-5+ years of lead RWI underwriting/broking or M&A transaction experience
Understanding and working knowledge of the RWI market including brokers and competitors
Specific knowledge of the RWI product including policy drafting, hosting underwriting calls, collaborating with underwriting counsel, and policy point negotiation
Extensive experience of dealing with brokers and/or clients
3-5+ years of tax experience at a law or accounting firm with detailed understanding of complex tax risks and structuring
Specific knowledge of a broad array of tax exposures (tax structuring issues, common tax risks in M&A transactions, tax credit matters, etc.)
Specific experience with procuring or negotiating tax insurance (or tax aspects of representations and warranties insurance) on behalf of deal clients is a strong plus

Preferred

New York office location is preferred, but we are open to other major cities in North America
