Responsibilities
Work with the Commercialization and Business Development Teams to develop and commercialize specialty thermoformed rigid packaging solutions for various key accounts
Serve as subject matter expert in the design of thermoformed consumer packaging using various CAD software such as AutoCAD or Solidworks
Serve as a customer interface to build high trust relationships with clients
Convert customer requirements and ambitions into actual production scale products aligned with internal specifications and business priorities
Assist new product development projects from conception through commercialization including manufacturing/asset specification and feasibility studies
Plan and execute pilot-scale trials
Travel domestically to client manufacturing sites or headquarters in order to support new product development and customer technical service needs
Qualification
Required
BS Degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Food Science, or other highly relevant STEM field
Technical skill for packaging design in AutoCAD or Solidworks
6+ years of experience in flexible packaging development engineering
3-5+ years of experience in thermoformed packaging design and thermoforming equipment and tooling design
Understanding of FDA regulation for food packaging design
Experience with managing customer relationships including satisfaction surveys and audits
Preferred
Remote within the US but preferably in Eastern or Central Time Zones
