Modem Test Engineer

Responsibilities
Develop & Deploy the automation solution for manual test plans and test cases for IMS features (VoNR, VoLTE, ViLTE, VoWiFi, RCS) and Modem functionalities (call processing, data throughput, mobility, power consumption), adhering to 3GPP specifications and protocols
Perform weekly regression, sanity, feature-specific, and performance testing to ensure the quality and stability of new software releases
Isolate, reproduce, and accurately report defects using bug tracking systems such as Buganizer
Ability to isolate the test failures arising from Infrastructure,scripts or the Wireless/IMS protocol stack and diligent verification of resolved issues
Collaborate with development and integration teams to analyze test failures using tools such as ShannonDM, QXDM, or similar proprietary tools, identifying the root cause of issues related to signaling, protocol failures, or performance
Qualification
Required
12+ years of progressive experience in software testing and quality assurance, with at least 8 years focused specifically on IMS/VoNR/VoLTE/VoWiFi/5G UE testing and automation development
Strong, in-depth understanding of the IMS architecture, call flows, interfaces, and key protocols such as SIP, Diameter, RTP/RTCP
Develop & Deploy the automation solution for manual test plans and test cases for IMS features (VoNR, VoLTE, ViLTE, VoWiFi, RCS) and Modem functionalities (call processing, data throughput, mobility, power consumption), adhering to 3GPP specifications and protocols
Exceptional knowledge of IP networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls)
Proficient in developing automated test cases via frameworks like Google LTP, with strong root cause analysis skills for script/infrastructure failures
Possesses excellent knowledge of TCP flows and data communication
Exceptional knowledge of test equipment platforms such as Anritsu, RNS with preference of Amarisoft system and work with Vendors to manage and maintain the equipment issues and software patch upgrade

Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering or Computer Science
Proficient in Callbox testing, including Amarisoft TE, Keysight, R&S
Experience in modifying/executing the TE scripts
Understanding of mobile telecom concepts based on 3GPP standards and protocols, and knowledge of basic call flows in 3G, LTE, VoLTE and 5G
Proficiency in Python, Java
Experience in wireless modem (3G, 4G, 5G) protocol testing with mobile handsets
Mobile app testing- Android
Well versed with LTE, NR callflows
Knowledge of IMS Core, SIP packets is a huge plus
Troubleshooting skills, review failure result and identify the root cause
