Dishonored Payments Fiscal Analyst (FA1)

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to the public, Licensing Services Offices, and DOL teams via phone and email
Work with internal DOL customers to ensure all records are up to date including, but not limited to, fraud and bankruptcies
Process incoming Dishonored Payments from multiple channels such as returned checks from bank or failed online ACH transactions
Run Collection Reports to identify accounts for collections
Identify appropriate debt collection company and upload required collection documents
Input restitutions that have been recovered by the collection agency to agency systems

Required

One (1) year of experience in accounting, auditing or budgeting
One (1) year of higher education that includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours of accounting, auditing or budgeting
One (1) year of experience providing customer service by listening attentively, identifying needs or issues, providing options for customers, and exercising knowledge of state laws and regulations to assist others
One (1) year of experience conveying ideas and information in writing, using language that is appropriate to both the complexity of the topic and the knowledge and understanding of the reader
The ability to promote and support a respectful, equitable, and inclusive workplace for all employees
The ability to promote and support respectful, equitable, and inclusive delivery of services to customers
The ability to understand the importance and significance of what records must be released and what is confidential
The ability to take action to learn and grow
The ability to take action to meet the needs of others

Preferred

One (1) year of experience using spreadsheet software, such as Excel to find and replace data, create, modify, print, and format spreadsheets, work with basic formulas and functions, use templates, styles, autoformat and multiple worksheets
A degree in a financial related field, certification as a Public Accountant, Internal Auditor, Certified Governmental Financial Manager or Management Accountant
One year of experience using word processing software, such as Microsoft Word and personal information web manager to do the following: Create, format edit, preview, copy, paste, print, and save documents; Create bulleted and numbered lists, indent and align paragraphs, and use bordering and shading features; Compose, send, and respond to electronic mail and utilize e-mail program functions including the calendar
Experience entering accurate accounting related information into an electronic accounting system
Experience analyzing and reconciling general or subsidiary ledger for validity and accuracy
Experience using Agency-Specific Systems such as AFRS, DRIVES, Financial Toolbox, Enterprise Reporting
Experience in accounting theory, principles and practices, internal control procedures, financial management software applications, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
