Responsibilities
The Director of Sales is responsible for both acquiring/managing customers and distribution partners across the GT’s Sales channels
The Director of Sales utilizes their strong understanding of Broker led selling organizations to manage multiple large volume and national accounts, and to scale the channels for the brand
Responsible for maximizing the potential sales volume, and planning and directing sales force activities to maximize profit from all segments of the market, creating and communicating programs to respective regional teams for execution
Partners cross-functionally with the Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain teams to establish and implement successful customer programs that profitably increase product availability and points of distribution
Achieves and delivers annual plans for the customer base that reflect the agreed upon brand/customer strategies and supply delivery of business goals
Monitor and manage Sales performance by leveraging customer analytical systems
Translate business strategy into clear and locally executable plans and focus resources accordingly within their respective customers
Understands the dynamics of each respective customer and provides insight and direction to develop solutions that promote and build the brand
Builds Sales presentations and reports that will provide an action-oriented response to share both internally and with customers
Supports the execution and management of budgets, sales expense, T&E and reporting
Delivers Results and strives to deliver on Annual Operating Plan
Qualification
Required
Strong understanding of Broker led selling organizations
Ability to manage multiple large volume and national accounts
Experience in maximizing sales volume and directing sales force activities
Ability to create and communicate programs for execution
Experience in partnering cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain teams
Ability to achieve and deliver annual plans for customer base
Experience in monitoring and managing Sales performance using customer analytical systems
Ability to translate business strategy into clear and executable plans
Strong understanding of customer dynamics and ability to provide insight and direction
Experience in building Sales presentations and reports
Ability to support execution and management of budgets, sales expense, T&E, and reporting
Assertive and demonstrates courage
Ability to effectively negotiate and influence others
Strong communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with a variety of audiences
Strong organizational skills; able to set and meet deadlines, and multi-task in fast-paced situations
Strong presentation skills; ability to use data for fact-based selling
Extremely organized, dependable, and self-motivated
Strong analytical skills and ability to use reports and syndicated data
Experience in trade promotion analysis and ROI
Leadership skills; able to acquire, manage, mentor, and lead a team of Sales Managers
Strong computer skills – specific knowledge in Microsoft Office programs
Knowledge of customer plan-o-grams and schematics
