Head of IT
Carpenter Co. is seeking a strategic and hands-on leader for the Head of IT position. This role is responsible for evolving the global enterprise IT operating model, leading large-scale transformation programs, and ensuring technology investments drive measurable business outcomes.

Responsibilities
Own the global ERP strategy and roadmap, including SAP S/4HANA deployment, optimization, and continuous improvement
Ensure ERP enables standardized global processes while supporting local regulatory and operational needs
Establish structured partner governance with key platform vendors and system integrators, ensuring alignment between vendor roadmaps, co-innovation opportunities, and enterprise priorities
Drive value realization through process harmonization, automation, and embedded analytics
Own and optimize core platforms including Salesforce, Power BI, and EDI
Ensure reliable, scalable integrations across enterprise systems
Partner with business leaders to prioritize enhancements aligned to operational needs
Drive enterprise-wide change management initiatives to ensure adoption of new systems and processes
Lead large-scale program and system implementations, including planning, stakeholder alignment, and delivery
Establish governance, communication, and training strategies to support sustainable change
Lead and execute the enterprise IT strategy aligned with business goals and long-term growth
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, translating business needs into scalable technology solutions
Drive a platform-based architecture strategy that maximizes value from strategic technology partners (SAP, Salesforce, Microsoft) and holds SI/vendor relationships accountable to business outcome
Act as executive sponsor and owner for complex, multi-year global transformation programs, with a strong emphasis on SAP S/4HANA
Build, mentor, and lead high-performing IT teams across the North America and EMEA-APAC
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Identify inefficiencies and lead automation, standardization, and system consolidation efforts
Improve data quality, visibility, and executive reporting
Reduce complexity while improving reliability and user experience
Support manufacturing operations through optimized ERP and operational systems
Partner with operations and supply chain leaders to enhance technology and reporting
Align IT solutions with production, inventory, and distribution requirements
Own and continuously evolve the global enterprise IT operating model, ensuring clear accountability across architecture, delivery, run, and innovation
Establish and enforce enterprise architecture standards across applications, data, integration, infrastructure, and security
Define and govern technology roadmaps aligned to long-term business strategy and transformation priorities
Ensure consistent delivery quality, financial discipline, and risk management across all IT programs and platforms
Qualification
Required
Proven success leading change management and enterprise system implementations
Ability to execute end to end process transformation, especially around SAP/S4
Establish structured partner governance with key platform vendors and system integrators, ensuring alignment between vendor roadmaps, co-innovation opportunities, and enterprise priorities
Hands-on experience with SAP, Salesforce, Power BI, EDI and MS365
Understand of networking principles and managing a private WAN
Well versed in Cyber risk, current threat landscape, and defenses
Enterprise mindset with strong business acumen
Comfortable operating at both strategic and execution levels
Decisive, outcome-oriented, and disciplined
Collaborative leader who builds trust across functions and geographies
Ability to travel up to 15%
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience in large, global enterprises
Deep experience leading large, multi-year SAP S/4HANA transformations
Demonstrated leadership in enterprise data, analytics, and decision enablement
Experience managing global teams, complex vendor ecosystems, and system integrators
Preferred
Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Prior manufacturing environment experience
Prior M&A and integration experience, highly preferred
