Lab Coordinator - Per Diem

The Lab Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day operations of assigned sections or shifts, overseeing clinical operations, managing student engagement, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Design and implement a comprehensive, standardized student laboratory program for the FMCSMLS
Oversees data management systems and all student laboratory instrumentation
Troubleshoots instrumentation failures
Coordinates the implementation of new administrative protocols, policies and procedures
Properly organizes and maintains all documentation pertaining to QC for Point of Care testings
Maintains SOP manuals to meet regulatory requirements
Properly organizes and maintains all documentation pertaining to NAACLS reaccreditation
Maintains manuals to meet accreditation requirements
Manages and/or assists in the recruitment, development and supervision of students
Creates and sustains an environment that fosters student engagement
Establishes clear objectives tied to school and/or organizational strategic goals
Coaches, counsels and evaluates performance of students
Track, analyze, and report on relevant data and metrics as needed and/or requested
Develop, recommend and/or implement actions or process improvements as appropriate
Other duties and/or projects as assigned
Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior

Qualification

Medical TechnologyLaboratory OperationsBasic Lab SkillsPhlebotomyASCP CertificationComputer SkillsCommunication Skills

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology/Medical Lab Science or a related biological science
A minimum 5 years experience in a hospital-based medical laboratory
Basic lab skills including laboratory math for dilutions and concentration techniques
Ability to operate basic lab equipment including centrifuges, incubators, microscopes, pipettors, and spectrophotometer
Phlebotomy skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms

Preferred

Experience in a hospital based medical laboratory science program
ASCP and/or CLS(NCA) Certification
