Responsibilities
Lead and execute full-cycle accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, intercompany transactions, and account reconciliations
Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes in accordance with strict reporting deadlines
Ensure accuracy and completeness of the general ledger and supporting documentation
Assist with preparation and review of financial statements and supporting schedules for SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K)
Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, statutory accounting considerations, and internal accounting policies
Support SOX controls, including documentation, testing, and remediation efforts
Perform variance analysis and provide insights on trends, fluctuations, and business drivers
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies in a public-company environment
Partner with FP&A, actuarial, treasury, tax, and internal audit teams on cross-functional initiatives
Serve as a key contact for internal and external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits
Prepare audit schedules and respond to information requests with accuracy and timeliness
Support regulatory and statutory reporting requirements as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a public company or large, complex organization
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls (SOX)
Experience with full-cycle accounting and month-end close
Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large ERP systems
