Chief Engineer and Functional Manager

Responsibilities
Leads (system) architecture design and optimization activities, trades and analyses
Ensures system design and implementation meet technical requirements and customer / mission needs within allocated engineering cost & schedule
Ensures system design is realizable, maintainable, supportable and testable
Drives technical risk and opportunity definition, identification, and mitigation/realization
Technical interface to Customer, PMO and executive leadership:
Understand requirements, missions, use cases, and constraints
Technical risks and issues including impact assessment, mitigation, minimization and closure plans
Provide direction, supervision, and guidance to ensure alignment with Chief Engineer strategic objectives and organization goals
Ensure group members adhere to BAE Systems' cultural principals, policies, and vision
Collaborate with senior management on Chief Engineer recruiting, development, and talent pipeline
Participate in independent design reviews, architecture review boards and other program technical reviews
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience in a relevant field) with a minimum work experience of: 12+ Years with BS, 10+ Years with MS/PhD
Possess an Active US Government security clearance (with ability to possess TS)
Minimum 5 years of experience leading development of RF Electronic Warfare systems
Leadership skills and experience directing and mentoring engineers on complex programs
Expertise in System Architectures
Expert in effectively documenting, communicating, leading and working with a team on designs, results, reports, and presentations
Experience performing systems engineering activities across the development cycle (analysis/decomposition/derivation/allocation of requirements, system modeling & simulation, system design & development, system integration & test) through production
Experience developing viable concept solutions, identifying and tracking technical risks, and leading technical teams
Preferred
M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related engineering discipline and 13+ years of experience or Ph.D. with 11+ years of experience
10+ years of experience as a Chief Engineer or equivalent leading development of Electronic Warfare systems
Experience with technical performance measurements and cost account management
Formal Root Cause and Corrective Action training or equivalent experience
Model based systems engineering experience with tools such as MagicDraw
Experience with Electronic Warfare systems and RADAR systems
Active United States security clearance, Top Secret, SCI Eligible
Experience with functional management
