Project Accountant
LHH is partnering with a well-established construction organization to hire a Project Accountant to support job-cost accounting, billing, and financial coordination across active construction projects. This role involves maintaining job cost records, processing accounts payable invoices, and assisting with project billing while collaborating closely with Project Managers and Accounting leadership.
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and organized job cost records for assigned construction projects
Match and enter weekly labor costs and ensure expenses are properly coded to the correct projects
Process and review accounts payable invoices, matching invoices to purchase orders and packing slips
Assist with project billing, including preparing invoices, schedules of values, and supporting documentation
Coordinate lien waivers, collections, and required compliance documentation
Support Project Managers with financial reports and cost analysis
Respond to documentation requests from Accounting leadership and project stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
1–3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, project, or job‑cost accounting
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Comfortable working with accounting systems and project‑based software
Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style
