Aderant Financial Systems Manager
London Approach is seeking a Financial Systems Manager with expertise in Aderant Expert to optimize their financial systems ecosystem. The role involves managing Aderant Expert administration, configuration, and integrations while partnering closely with Finance leadership and external vendors to enhance system efficiency and accuracy.

Responsibilities
Serve as the primary SME and system owner for Aderant Expert (configuration, workflows, security, modules, user access, and system rules)
Support and optimize core Aderant functions including:
Time entry / timekeeping
Billing / pre-bills / proformas
AR, cash application, write-offs, trust
Matter maintenance, rate management, client setup
General Ledger mappings / financial controls
Lead system enhancements: evaluate needs, design solutions, test changes, deploy updates, and document processes
Manage and support Aderant upgrades, patches, and integrations, including coordination with Aderant support and third-party partners
Partner with Finance and Billing teams to improve:
Invoice generation accuracy
Billing cycle efficiency
EBilling / LEDES workflows
Reporting accuracy + month-end close support
Identify system issues and implement permanent fixes (root-cause analysis, configuration redesign, workflow automation)
Own and maintain integrations between Aderant Expert and surrounding systems (examples: Elite 3E integrations, iManage, Intapp, Chrome River, ADP, Concur, Workday, etc. depending on environment)
Build, maintain, and improve reporting using:
Aderant reporting tools
SQL queries / data extracts
Power BI / Excel dashboards (nice to have)
Ensure data integrity across finance systems (validation, audits, troubleshooting sync issues)
Act as escalation point for production issues involving billing, time, and finance workflows
Provide ongoing user support, training, job aids, SOPs, and knowledge base documentation
Enforce system governance: approvals, access controls, audit trails, policy compliance
Qualification
Required
5+ years of financial systems experience in a law firm or professional services environment
Expert-level experience with Aderant Expert (this is mandatory)

Strong understanding of law firm finance operations: WIP, AR, trust, write-downs/write-offs, rates
Experience managing vendors and system stakeholders
Strong communication skills (ability to work with Accounting leadership + technical IT teams)

SQL reporting experience (SSMS, stored procedures, views)
Power BI, advanced Excel modeling, or other BI/reporting tools
Experience with eBilling platforms (TyMetrix, Legal-X, CounselLink, Serengeti, etc.)
Integration knowledge (APIs, middleware tools, SFTP automation, ETL)
Experience leading system implementations / migrations
