Responsibilities

Develop and maintain standardized fleet strategy, vehicle classes, configurations, and replacement cycles
Own fleet policies, procedures, and compliance standards
Support scalable fleet growth across multiple sites and regions
Embed safety and verification principles into fleet operations
Manage vehicle sourcing, ordering, deployment, and disposal
Partner with Finance on TCO, capital planning, and replacement forecasting
Track lifecycle stages from acquisition through retirement
Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and local regulations
Support driver qualification, training, and incident management
Oversee inspections, preventive maintenance, telematics, and driver behavior programs
Ensure timely vehicle availability for construction and service teams
Coordinate fleet logistics for project mobilization and demobilization
Serve as escalation point for fleet-related operational issues
Establish preventive maintenance standards by vehicle class
Manage OEM, dealer, upfitter, and maintenance vendor relationships
Monitor service quality, downtime, warranties, and cost controls
Maintain accurate fleet records, compliance documentation, and asset inventories
Track KPIs including utilization, downtime, maintenance costs, incidents, and fuel usage
Provide executive reporting and optimization recommendations

Required

5+ years of fleet management experience in construction, industrial, or service environments
Experience managing light- and medium-duty truck fleets
Strong knowledge of fleet lifecycle management, DOT compliance, and preventive maintenance
Experience supporting fast-paced, multi-site operations
Proficiency with fleet management systems and telematics

Preferred

Knowledge of service vehicle upfits
Familiarity with HSE systems and driver safety programs
Experience with fleet budgeting and capital planning
