Finance Intern
Northwest Federal Credit Union is seeking qualified interns for their paid Summer Internship Program at their Corporate Office in Herndon, VA. The Finance Intern will assist in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, providing valuable hands-on experience in a professional environment.

Responsibilities
Prepare weekly pricing committee packages (market analysis, competitive surveys, deposit trends)
Prepare financial reports and scorecard of key financial ratios for senior management and Board of Directors
Provide budget to actual variance analyses, including but not limited to, income statement, balance sheet, interest rates, loan repayments
Assist with cash flow and investment portfolio reporting
Assist in updating monthly financial forecast presented to senior management; includes updating model assumptions and provide written narrative of material changes
Assist in any other special ad-hoc projects within Finance or Accounting
Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
Qualification
Required
Must be enrolled in a credited university at the junior/senior level or recently graduated college within the last six months in pursuit of a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
Average 3.0 GPA or above (transcripts required)
Ability to work on-site in our Herndon, VA headquarters for the duration of June 1st through August 7th
Ability to work the hours of 8:00am - 4:30pm Monday through Friday
Basic knowledge of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) and financial analysis
Ability to interpret and assist with financial forecast, variance analysis, treasury management, and ad-hoc projects
Ability to use standard office equipment and systems; expertise with Microsoft Office suite of products, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to communicate and collaborate amongst Finance and Accounting team members
Effective oral and written communication skills
Confidentiality with member and financial data
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and detail-oriented
Ability to manage time effectively (managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines)
Relevant course work in analytics, research, and report preparation
Preferred
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, basic financial formulas)
Familiarity with financial modeling
