Responsibilities
Provide daily leadership, mentoring, and training to new and existing Patient Access staff
Assist with escalated patient or staff concerns and ensure timely resolution
Support short- and long-term planning for Registration areas including Admitting, Centralized Scheduling, Emergency Department, and clinic operations
Maintain a high level of customer service and assist staff with issue resolution
Enforce departmental policies, procedures, and workflow standards
Assist in developing and implementing new procedures in alignment with organizational guidelines
Monitor daily activity and performance metrics, including financial clearance reports
Prepare reports and complete special projects as assigned
Perform Patient Access functions as needed
Serve as part of the leadership team to ensure departmental operational goals are met
Interview, hire, train, and onboard new employees
Plan, assign, and direct daily work activities
Conduct performance evaluations
Address employee concerns, coaching needs, and disciplinary actions
Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable regulations
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a medical facility, health insurance, or related field
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Working knowledge of healthcare information systems
Solid understanding of revenue cycle management and regulatory requirements
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to remain seated for extended periods
Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Must be available to work hours and days based on operational needs
Compliance with required health screenings and vaccinations as permitted by law
Preferred
College degree preferred (Business, Accounting, Medical Administration, or related field)
At least 5 years of Patient Access experience preferred
Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or lead role preferred
